![]() Yes, they can shoot guns too, just like Mages or Shamans can, but it's typically not what you use the most, they're often last resort, even melee weapons are not that useful for non-ork/non-troll magic users, except if they would allow us a game with the full blown rules, talking about somebody with Magic at 5 who can do limited spells, they're known as Sorcerers right? Never known anybody who played one, but as a GM/DM, I've made enemies like that and sometimes NPC's. My first Adept survived 15 missions.so I gotta say I got something for Adepts. Yeah, playing an Adept seems like it wouldn't work, and I played 2 Adepts on tabletop in 25 years of Shadowrun, most on 3rd edition since me and my friends owned almost all of the supplemental books, we had insane characters/campaigns. Thoughts? I could be entirely misunderstanding the situation and how game development works, but this is what I've come up with based on what's known. If that's the case, then something has to come eventually, and that something could be another Shadowrun. TL DR: Harebrained Schemes hasn't announced anything in a while, but context implies they've been working on new stuff that doesn't seem related to the larger games their parent company, Paradox, has been working on. ![]() The Shadowrun games sold reasonably well, so my guess is their go-to "safe game" choice would be Shadowrun. It's certainly possible that the two projects Harebrained was working on have been stuck in development purgatory with the pandemic over the last year, but the hiring makes me doubtful: all those people they're hiring have to be working on something, right? So then the question becomes: what have they been working on? The thing that seems most likely is an entirely new game, but if they've still got two different projects in development, it would make sense for them to do something new with one and something safe and a "guaranteed seller" with the other. Paradox's event a few days ago primarily focused on their grand strategy games and others like Stellaris, and didn't seem to include any new game announcements, so whatever Harebrained has been working on is still yet to be announced. Their Twitter account has been almost exclusively announcements that they're hiring, and this has been the case for the last year. Considering it hasn't been updated in about a year now, it looks like they're definitely moving on from Battletech. The last substantial news we've really heard from Harebrained was last year, when they mentioned they were working on two new projects. Maybe this is hopeful thinking, but I'd like to make a case for why another Shadowrun game may be coming soon based on what I've seen (or, more accurately, not seen) online.
